Purim

Purim Sameach! (That means happy purim!)

As you can guess it's Purim at the moment which obviously is a Jewish festival. It's all about this man, Haman, who tried to kill all the Jews in Persia and this Jewish girl, Ester, became queen and managed to convince the king, Ahashverosh, that it was a bad thing and in the end Haman gets hanged and the Jews survive. It's a reallky cool festival because everyone dresses up and it's a tradition to get really drunk so you can't tell the difference between the Jews and Haman. So we went to syngague last night all dressed up, i was dressed as an English Bobby, with fake eyebrows and a moustache, i'll put up a photo soon, and whilst they read the read the story you have to make loads of noise and boo every time they say Haman. I hadn't gone to synagogue on Purim for so long, it was mega fun. Then we went to Burgers Bar which is this amazing burger place which happens to be a couple of doors down from the synagogue we went to. Afterwoods we went to Mike's Place which is a bar in town where they had a special deal, 6 drinks for 50 shekels, which is just over 6 pounds, and we all got very drunk and i decided it was a good idea to steal as many beer mats and stuff like that from the bar so now my policeman's hat is full of bar mats and free postcard things.

Purim means 'pudding' in Japanese. That's funny.
