Ein Gedi

I forgot to say that the weekend before last before I started Sarel, Anna and I (I'm writing this partly because she's sitting next to me and wants me to write about it) went to Ein Gedi which is next to the dead sea. We stayed in a youth hostel there, which was a bit weird because we were staying in single sex dorms because they were cheaper, but there didn't seem to be anybody else staying in myt room so anna moved all her stuff in and at about midnight when we were just sitting talking 3 russian men walked in, so anna ran away, and i helped her take her stuff to her room and when i came back i realised that i hadn't taken my key and the russians had locked the door. Luckily i could hear them speaking inside so i knocked and they let me in.

Before that we'd walked down to a beach to get dinner because we'd read that there was a restaurant but it was closed but there was a little kiosk thing which was open, so we bought some food and then saw there were some other people there, and they invited us to join them. The people turned out to be 4 volunteers who were volunteering in Bethlehem cultivating some land owned by a christian palestinian. 2 were from germany, one was from switzerland and one was a woman from Ireland. There were very nice and interesting and we ended up sitting there for like 3 or 4 hours in the cold and occasional rain. We were really proud of ourselves because it was a proper travelling experience, we just met some random people and sat and talked to them for ages.



On another note today we had to choose some of our lessons for machon, which was really hard. We had to rate all the lessons and hopefully we'll get our first choices, but i don't know when we'll find out.
