hmm
Hello all, i'm guessing that's the three of you
I'm sitting in thebasement of the place where we're staying on the computer, as we found today after nearly 3 weeks of being here that there's a little computer room and a tv room, so we've been watching dvds as we bought a group dvd player.
I'm trying to remember what i've been doing, but it's quite hard cause i don't actually think i've been doing that much. It was Yom Kippur last thursday which was quite nice, i repented fora ll my sins (which is what you're supposed to do). I also walked to the western wall, about a 40 min walk at the hottest point in the day, which was not fun as i was fasting, i felt very ill afterwards. But then i ate lots of food afterwards, including Nigella's chocolate cloud cake, which i made at Jonny's cos it was his birthday the day before.
A couple of days ago we went to the Conservative Yeshiva. Conservative being another name for masorti, which is the what type of Jewish I am, like orthodoxi or reform, but you should all know that anyway. And yeshiva being a school of Jewish learning and stuff. We ahd a couple of sessions there which were very good, including one by this woman called Dina who used to be part of Noam, who is friends with Jonny and Benj and me who is completely bonkers but veryvery nice, she's a poet, that should explain the bonkers bit.
Today it rained for the first time since we've been here, it was very odd. A group of us ewere going to go to a hippy music festival in the north for the day, but yesterday we decided that the bus time to get there and back were all wrong so we didn't go, some people went to the dead sea instead but i slept. But i did see a friend who used to be part of Noam who'd now in a yeshiva, there's millions of them in the country, his one is an orthodox one though, then i watched romeo must die, cruel intentions and one tree hill.
It's all a bit weird at the moment, cos we've got organised things to do in the day but we don't get told much about them, which is really annoying everyone, and we've had quite a few free days cos there ahve been lots of festivals, there was also Sukkot, which is another festival. And a lot of the time i can't be bothered to do anything and end up just reading in bed and listening to music, and chatting instead of actually going out and doing stuff, which is getting really annoying. But i have been to the cinema twice, i saw the brothers grimm, weird but quite good, and wallace and grommit which was very good. Oh and the weird AJ6 people bought two hamsters cos they're weird, they called them schwarma (a kebab but Jewish, what Jordan and Mark used to go and get every week after running from Solly's) and falafel.
That's all i'm writing for now
